HOW IT WORKS

Collect, process, and review

1

Capture purchases as they happen

Email merchant receipts, photograph paper slips, log cash purchases manually, or import end-of-week CSV summaries. Four paths cover the full range of how materials arrive on a production.
2

Each item is categorised and tagged

Purchases are assigned to one of nine Albert material categories and tagged to a department. Recycled-content items are flagged separately — they carry a lower embodied carbon factor.
3

Disposal routes close the loop

When materials leave the production, their route is recorded: reuse, recycling, composting, energy recovery, or landfill. Each route applies a different downstream factor.

WHY IT MATTERS

Art department, construction, and costume are large consumers of physical materials. A set build can involve tonnes of timber, hundreds of litres of paint, significant volumes of fabric and plastics. Most submissions leave materials blank because the data has never been captured at source. Disposal choices — donating sets, returning unused stock, routing timber to reuse merchants — carry real carbon differences that now appear in the submission.
